An adaptation of Framed by Macmillan Children’s author Frank Cottrell Boyce is to be broadcast on BBC1 this August Bank Holiday, with Trevor Eve and Eve Myles to star.

Set almost entirely in Wales, the drama tells the story of 10-year-old Dylan Hughes and his family’s small petrol station; when his father leaves the family, it coincides with the arrival of a contingent from the National Portrait Gallery in London, who have brought paintings to Wales for safe-keeping after the gallery was flooded. The novel was inspired by the real-life practice during the Second World War of keeping paintings in Welsh mines.

“Framed” was directed by Andy De Emmony, who has previously directed “Filth: The Mary Whitehouse Story” and “God On Trial”; the producer is Richard Burrell and the executive producer Jessica Pope.

A nice treat today! I have finally managed to get my scanner working and so have added two new magazine scans to the gallery – one is from a (naked!) photoshoot that Eve did for the Helen Bamber Foundation that was featured in a 2008 edition of Glamour, and the second is a recent article from Cardiff Life – this magazine is pretty much exclusive to Eve Myles Network as only Cardiff residents can get hold of it – well done to my boyfriend for keeping it for me ;] Enjoy!

Torchwood panel headlined by Russell T. Davies and John Barrowman was the last big event of Comic-Con International this year. While it didn’t pack any huge revelations, it did come with good news for fans. The show will return for a full season in 2010.

The BBC decided to make the show’s third season, “Children of Earth,” into a week-long miniseries event. It was a huge ratings success in the U.K. and fared well on BBC American in the U.S. So, the Beeb is giving it a longer run.

But, Davies had no news on how many episodes fans could look forward to, while Barrowman offered little insight on how his Captain Jack character would return to the series after his exit at the conclusion of “Children of Earth.”

“It’s too early,” Davies said. “We haven’t even sat down for meetings on (the new season) yet.”

A major concern for the crowd was the fate of Ianto Jones (Gareth David-Lloyd). Fans chanted for the dead character’s return to the show.

But, Davies squashed that: “Even in Torchwood, dead is dead.”

Of course, the show’s second season featured a main character who was essentially an animated corpse, but it’s Davies’ show.
