Torchwood Team Touch Down

John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd made a dramatic arrival to Cardiff today to launch Torchwood: Children of Earth on DVD & Blu-ray. The Cardiff skies were buzzing as the team jetted in by helicopter – landing on top of the Torchwood hub in Cardiff Bay.

Our heroes made the typically Torchwood entrance to their native city before heading off to HMV for a DVD signing, where hundreds of fans had gathered.

“Cardiff is such an important part of Torchwood. I’m thrilled to be signing here,” says John Barrowman. “Arriving in a helicopter is not only really cool,” he adds, “it’s also the only way to travel because someone’s stolen the Torchwood vehicle.”

The action-packed series achieved phenomenal ratings success delivering an average of over 5.8 million viewers per episode for its move to BBC One.

In the spectacular third series the team face their greatest threat yet, – one which throws the future of Torchwood and the entire human race spiralling into danger when an ordinary day becomes a world of terror, as every single child in the world stops.

As a trap closes around Captain Jack, sins of the past are returning and long-forgotten events from 1965 threaten to reveal an awful truth. Captain Jack, Gwen and Ianto are helpless, as events escalate until mankind faces the end of civilisation itself.
